My Golf Journey

About Me

My Name is Rose Yancey and I started playing golf between my Freshman and Sophomore years in High School at Westerville North High School, in Westerville, Ohio. My first golf competition was as a member of the Girls Varsity Golf Team at the beginning of my Sophomore Year. Even though I was new to the game, I managed to tie for the lowest scoring average on the team and fell in love with the game. I continue to put in considerable time to hone my skills as a golfer under the tutelage of Gerry Hammond, PGA Teaching Professional, at Hammond Golf Academy in Gahanna, Ohio. Throughout this past Summer I competed in nationally ranked events hosted by Golf Week, an Indiana Elite Event, and the Ohio Golf Association Girls Junior Championship. During my Junior Year High School Season, I made great strides earning 2nd Team All Conference and Honorable Mention All District Honors. I finished 6th overall in my conference with a 79.3 average and qualified for the OHSAA Central District Championship which hasn't been done by anyone at my high school in over 13 years.

Qualified for the District Championship in year # 2, placed 31st and earned Honorable Mention District Honors.
